You can make many changes in the settings of the extender by using the Linksys default web portal. 

Update Software Of Extender. To download the latest software file of Linksys extender, take the computer and open the browser on it. Make sure that your computer must be Linked with the Linksys default network. Now, type http//extender.linksys.com in the address bar field. Fill in the details and click on the network advanced settings option. At last, hit on the software upgrade option and install the file on the computer. After installing the file on the computer, you will be required to restart the extender to complete the software upgrade process. 

You can make many more changes after visiting Linksys web management page. Change the username and security password. Restart the extender without pressing the power button. As well as without punching the extender reset button, from that web page you can also reset all the previous configuration settings.
