A Classic, Casual & Romantic Summer Garden Party Wedding

I don't think we have ever had a specific style in our mind for our day.

It was much more about trying to come up with the perfect recipe to produce the right atmosphere or feel. We always said from the very start that people just desired to create each day that suited us, felt like us, and maybe simple, relaxed, and fun for everyone there.

"We live inside a very small town with this type of sense of community and camaraderie, it had been a no-brainer, as well as an absolute pleasure, to make use of small local businesses and family and friends to help us create our wedding day. I would recommend this for 2 main reasons – it provides you with great flexibility, it makes every touch, from big to small, feel so personal for you."

"My little Flower Girl, Savannah, was 8 years of age. She was eager to wear a tutu and we managed to discover the most perfect outfit for her (ivory tulle girls dress and leotard). She is pleased with it and she or he looked adorable. I would recommend FeelTimes, her service and communication were just right."

The groom wore a kilt in Muted Macintyre and Glenorchy tartan, that was custom made via John Morrison Kiltmakers in Edinburgh.

"We were built with a few little Scottish and South African touches through the wedding. One of those was Nick’s bespoke Springbok sporran. It is beautiful then one he will keep forever."

"We met initially whilst both studying at University in Edinburgh a long time ago. We then met again annually later, in 2014, in the Melrose Rugby 7's event and continued to laugh much more. Nicholas proposed to me around the Swilken Bridge around the Old Course at St Andrew's. It was this type of special day along with a feeling I will never forget."

"Golf will be Nick's first love, particularly in his hometown of St Andrews. Our first date included a walk across the golf course too, therefore it will always hold a unique place in our hearts for a lot of reasons. We have attended many a celebration here and also the gardens are simply beautiful much more full bloom, and also the house always boasts such character."

"We hosted a post-big day celebration BBQ around the Sunday for those our family and friends. Many of our guests returned for many more garden games, homemade pizzas along with a South African Braai. It is lovely to have this type of relaxed day with all of our loved ones to reminisce about the special day! We would recommend carrying this out."

"My bridesmaids' dresses were from feel times. We went for any beautiful neutral taupe color and also the style was ideal for everyone, including my bridesmaid Rosalyn's pregnant bump. The girls looked so beautiful. I bought my bridesmaids a necklace to wear at the time. These were the 'Chloe' gold pearl lariat necklace, from Aluna Mae."

"I desired to wear an outfit that I was comfortable in which made me seem to like myself. I didn't want anything to be within the top, I wanted it to go with me. The real test is postponing the wedding by annually and still finding yourself in love together with your dress by the time the wedding comes – it was true for me."

"We were originally meant to get married at the same venue on Saturday 1st August, in 2020. We were pretty lucky in that people only needed to re-schedule our wedding once, and although it had been incredibly stressful to complete so, when things came around in July 2021, I was able to go ahead using what we had planned, and possess a relatively 'normal' wedding with lots in our friends."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"Our main suggestion to couples planning a marriage during these strange times could be – use this being an opportunity to complete something different with your big day, let the creativity flow, and break free in the reigns of a vintage wedding. The most important thing is maybe the two of you be encompassed by all your favorite people in any manner that is possible."
