Dragon Platelegs is good. Ring of Wealth is great. Another economical yet powerful alternative is that the Explorers Rings. Obby cape is great. Dragon boots is good (when you get them) For your weapon I would certainly go for a whip or a Dragon Scimitar. Monkey Madness is required for the Dragon Scimmy and it does take some time but it's definitely worth it for coaching Power.

Dragon Defender is great (once you FINALLY get it). Additionally for a fantastic set of gloves I recommend doing RFD to get Dragon/Barrows gloves. Heck even Mithril gloves are extremely excellent. I find myself asking the identical question. Imo, slayer isn't any where near as good as it used to be (only looked what happened to the whips). Camping in abby demons for 75-125+ kills just to get a 900k-1.5mil fall?? Now for a 3mil drop will differ. Slayer is an enjoyable way to train melee stats so if you plan on doing coaching, go for it. Its a wonderful way to break the repetativeness of instruction on a single monster.

And the main profit in slayer doesnt come from the big drops, its all the small ones adding up over time buy RuneScape gold together with clues should you do them if you are smart herb runs involving tasks.
