New Jordan 2020, While not truly retro, this season's Air Jordan 13 "Brave Blue" pays homage to the colorway's debut on the 1998 low-top model. Likened to a "dream" -- because a design like this has been considered for so long -- this release is probably one of the most anticipated retro pieces of the year, and happily, it'll be available on a full family scale. Similar in construction to the original Flints, the 'Brave Blue' features dimpled ballistic nylon covering the sides in the eponymous cool hue. The toe cap is finished in black knurled leather, which matches the tongue, lower profile and heel only in color. Additionally, there's a pop of white throughout the midsole, the normal green holographic logo mounted on the back, and a bit of "college blue" (not present on the aforementioned low top) that identifies the Jumpman logo. All of these elements are present in the GS, PS and TD incarnations, albeit with subtle differences in appearance.

And, these young, aspiring designers worked with the Nike team to turn their experiences and tribulations into a concrete, emotional color. Cidni O'Brien, one of this year's lucky ones, suffered chest tightness while playing football in 2018 and was later diagnosed with an abnormal aortic origin in her left coronary artery, meaning her heart wasn't getting enough oxygen, causing extreme pain Poor heart function. Fortunately, O'Brien recovered within six months of major heart surgery and is now back on the pitch for her club, the Lebanese Warriors.
Retro Jordan 2021, The 16-year-old Air child's Force 1 Fontanka is devoted to her comrades and the animals she loves. The names of her goat, parrot, donkey, chicken, dog and fish are prominently printed on the laces, while O'Brien's horse tank gets a special mention on the left insole. The young athlete's mother, Nikki, was honored on the right, with O'Brien commenting, "[She] wouldn't be here without her." Additionally, the shoe's outsole features a shrimp-noodle design, a nod to O'Brien's best effort. Favorite food tribute.
Over the past three months, the Nike SB Dunk has debuted in a series of new shades, continuing the style founded by Peter Moore in 1985. The blue-covered shoe is vaguely reminiscent of the "University Blue/Deep Royal" colorway. 2006 just joined the kids-only lineup that has grown dramatically over the past five years. The forefoot, tongue and heel of the future shoes are light blue, similar to the famous "Argon" that debuted only in Japan in 2001. The toe, midfoot and collar panels are a deep (dark) blue, and the silhouette swoosh and laces inject "white" into the mix. The Nike Dunk has a two-color sole unit with a "colorless" midsole and dark blue tread that references previous colors.
