"I've noticed with these trash-talkers that the more they are talking about, the less effective they perform in the game," Belton says. In order to make good videos, Belton requires an opponent to be proficient at the game and to be obnoxious as possible.

In addition to making videos to promote his channel on YouTube, Belton isn't a fan of playing Madden for pleasure. Most of the time, his day is focused on editing. A game lasts under an hour, but editing that video takes another eight.

He tells me he wants to start a brand new channel -- one that will allow him to play various games.

"I love Call of Duty: Warzone. I'm just getting back into Fortnite. I'm constantly getting beat at every turn however I really enjoy it. And then I want to try other games, like PC games, frightening games, stuff like that," he says.

Unfortunately the sport he's good at -- the one in which his performance consistently beats the opposition -- is Madden.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible that he's got a bad taste on the sport since it's his main source of income, or if he truly believes there's a problem with the level that the sport offers.

"No, no, no, I think it's entirely because of Madden," he says. "If it wasn't my job I would not play the game at all.
