We got married on Thursday the 20th May 2021 at Glengariff Historic Estate.

Our celebrant (Debbie Payne) put a pleasant insert in our meeting together for the ceremony about how exactly we met and also got together which lets you know our story perfectly…

In March 2014, while Alex was residing in South Africa, it had been at the Rhino Orphanage where Alex was working they first met. Within the very first month, they'd discovered a lot in common and were immediately drawn to each other. Over the last couple of years, they've had many adventures and a lot of fun, relocating with one another, they've traveled and lived in a variety of locations, met their own families, had several cross oceanic trips, and lastly settling into Australian life. Of course, we wouldn’t be around without a proposal so when the time came for Gunter to consider their relationship one stage further, he knew exactly what to do, but he just needed to find the right time. Ongoing back to South Africa in October 2019, Gunter found an ideal moment when he and Alex went to have an early morning walk in the elephant sanctuary. To ensure everything visited plan, Gunter had organized the help of the guide along with a photographer. As Alex found herself not far from her favorite animal, an elephant, overwhelmed with excitement, she considered Gunter who took an ideal opportunity to drop to 1 knee to propose.

We wound up deciding we wanted an all-natural wedding so decided to have the bridesmaids inside beautiful sage green bridesmaid dresses, the marriage bouquets were deconstructed and arranged with white and blush pink flowers and natural greenery. The table setting had a similar color theme with greenery and wooden table centerpieces with candles encompassed by gold lanterns.

Gunter and I knew we desired to have an outdoor ceremony which was about it. When we visited view Glengariff just as one venue both of us instantly felt the vibe everyone discusses, and also the views and area reminded us of where we'd previously lived in South Africa. Plus, if you have a future husband who's pretty pleased with whatever you want, which’s concerning the extent of his input towards the day, and that he turns for you and says, “this really is it” and “I will surely see me marrying you here”, you type of can’t help but agree that yes this is it. Just lucky I was both on a single page using what we considered the place. Honestly, how may you not though?

The only idea I had during my head for my dress was that I wanted it to be an A-line, apart from that I was available to see what looked and felt suitable for me. When I found looking for the gown, I had asked my Mum, my sister, and my mate to come along helped me with deciding.

I couldn't stop touching the gorgeous satin material. The beading and detail in the top round the neckline are beautiful and also the amazing train using the buttons flowing down was just gorgeous. The dress helped me feel incredible in this classic and timeless type of way, but additionally, like the princess, every girl hopes for being at some stage of her life.

I was built with a wonderful experience at feeltimes and all sorts of the ladies there who helped us were so attentive and helpful. I would recommend to anyone searching for their dress to visit these lovely ladies for assistance.

The day couldn't have gone much better. I felt so relaxed and excited the whole time. My bride tribe and I arrived in the bridal villa earlier within the morning to begin the day a few times together so I could provide them with their little bridal packages which had the jewelry, silk pajamas, and robes, just a little personalized gift, along with a few other necessities for your day. Getting to begin the day served by them and also have some time to relax and take it all in really set a dark tone for the rest of your day. Nerves didn't even emerge from me once, only the sheer excitement of having to marry my man and celebrate with all of our nearest and dearest friends and family.

Unfortunately, Gunter’s household is all over South Africa, so not one of them was able to attend our big day. As I wanted these phones to be a part of your day somehow, I organized a surprise for Gunter with members of his family record messages to him sending their love and congratulations. It was turned into an attractive video by one of our family members over there and sent through therefore we could listen to it as a surprise once the speeches were done. It worked perfectly and he had no idea it had been going to happen. It certainly ensured there was not a dry eye within the house. I couldn't have been happier with the way it meant we're able to still have them there around in some way.

My advice for other brides is always to make sure you enjoy every area of the experience and try to remember that your day is all about both you and your future husband so whatever it is that will make you content on your day and throughout the look stages. Oh, also it’s so true what everyone says that your day goes past so quickly, so take it all in, make those special memories, and come with a magical time.
