If you've got 90+ attack and durability, then melee will be better. Ranged setup though would go something like that... Method - Stand directly in front of these, shield melee and use eagle eye. They will melee most of the time, and your d'hide / arma will tank most of their magic hits. The only damage you will take mostly is their ranged attacks.

I think, to begin with, you have to build a living area, and build a floor in the middle of it and build an oubliette room under it. After that, there are two other ways of getting into it: A big cave entrance that you build in a garden/fancy garden. A flight of stairs at a space.

After building one of these two you have the choice to OSRS buy gold construct a room under, and there must just be one choice for that. Once you build those area (s), you are able to build normally in building style, construction treasure rooms, dungeon corridors and junctions, or some other room from above that you want to have down below too.
