I wanted to be able to think differently about the Face of the Franchise. There were instances that I'd stop playing or restart it to try the game in a different direction. But at the end the day, the mode failed to hit its mark completely again. After an unsatisfactory performance with the story mode from last year, can Madden 24 help save the ship from sinking? Could it be the single-player-RPG-like game we've been longing to see in football simulator? Let's discuss this as part of my Madden 24 Face of the Franchise review.

Story Mode: The Road To The Draft

In the very first instance in the history of Madden, I believe the story is finally re-creating - at the very least, for the largest part -- the life of one the top players in the league is like. The first is that players have the choice of playing one of four positions including quarterback, running back wide receiver, quarterback, and linebacker.

I decided to play linebacker which might be a mistake, given how poorly the game is currently playing on defense. Linebacker is also one of two position (wide receiver) that is player-locked. Instead of being the quarterback, I'm asked to be the middle man of the defense and just the middle of the defense. Everyone must be aware of this when deciding on their position, because the only thing that is more important than choosing the best position is the story.

Madden 24 is the face of the franchise

After you've created your character and decide on your job the story starts by introducing you to the details of your role in the Nike Headquarters. I took part in several exercises that dealt with the position I play (linebacker). The focus was on how to tackle my opponent, and I'll tell you I let Saquon Barley make me look foolish time or two. My surprise was that this didn't alter the tone of conversation or how my colleagues viewed my performance. The people who watched me were still talking about how well I did and how thrilled they were to be chosen. I believe I observed a few ratings go up.

I'm not sure that I'd like to get punished because of Buy Mut 24 Coins Saquon Barkley's breakaway from the mediocre status of my favorite star and a bit other than a "job well completed" could have been enough.
