How have you met your Fiance?
I met Will at East Carolina University during our sophomore year. We were created by mutual friends and the sisters were also during my sorority.
How have you chosen the place for your wedding? What type of venue had you been looking for?
We both wanted a venue that incorporated water and our fascination with the coast. Will comes from Wilmington and my loved ones have had a house on Wrightsville my very existence. So having our wedding around the sound was ideal for us!
How have you decided on your bridesmaid dresses?
I was initially drawn to the FeelTimes dresses due to the color and also the style of the gowns. Once I used it on, I knew it might be ideal for my girls. The one-shoulder chiffon gown was flattering on all of the girls and also the fabric was ideal for a summer wedding. My wedding was black tie optional and I felt the gown fit the attire from the wedding, but allowed them to be comfortable.
Who designed your wedding dress? Where have you got it?
My gown was from-the-shoulder FeelTimes short wedding dresses. The gown was built with a structured bodice along with a small train. I loved my dress since it was classic, but had a flare into it!
What was your preferred part from the day?
I loved preparing with my bridesmaids and my loved ones. We all got our hair and makeup done together. The whole day was wonderful just having all of the people you like in your life altogether is so special.
What inspired you whenever you were planning your special day?
Style Me Pretty and Pinterest were great causes of inspiration for me personally during the planning process. I wanted the marriage to reflect our personalities. The ceremony happened outside within a tent around the sound at Figure Eight Island, NC. Will and I both love water and thought it might only be right for us to obtain married outside around the sound. Religion is essential in our lives and we wanted to result in the ceremony feeling spiritual since I was getting married outside. We were built with a wooden cross designed to stand at the end of the aisle for that ceremony. This would be a meaningful method for us to include our spirituality.
As for that reception, I wanted it to feel romantic and stylish. We were built with a combination of white flowers with gold accents and a lot of candles surrounding each centerpiece of the tables. We left on the boat in the reception also it was so special to appear back at everyone we love around the dock all lit up.
What advice have you got for other brides?
I would say to enjoy every moment of the engagement period and the big day. It goes by so quickly and it's this type of special time in your lifetime. Do not fret on the wedding day because it is not worth it! Just remember what's most important and relish the whole experience!
