Jones adds to how important the World of WoTLK Gold Warcraft brand to Blizzard the company behind the game. "We worked with Blizzard which, understandably, was extremely concerned about what would happen to the movie, as their main source of income was the game World of Warcraft , which was bringing in a billion dollars a year to them," he explains. While he acknowledges the profits from the film would be "small potatoes" in comparison to the amount Blizzard earns from subscriptions to the game, it was still very protective of its brand. "It was really a very engaged political landscape," he says.

The experience of creating World of Warcraft hasn't necessarily been a factor in turning Jones off from making another large-budget production. However, he'd certainly think about the project in a different manner. "I'm more mature now," he says.
