The global aluminum sulfate market is expected to register a steady revenue CAGR over the forecast period. The aluminum sulfate market revenue growth is primarily driven by factors such as rising need for treated water due to water scarcity and the recycled paper industry.

Aluminum sulfate is a white crystalline chemical compound with the chemical formula Al2(SO4)3 and the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number 10043-01-3. It has a pleasant, moderately astringent flavor, is harmless, and is ethanol insoluble, it will heat up but not combust. It is produced by reacting newly precipitated aluminum hydroxide with a suitable amount of sulfuric acid. After that, the solution is evaporated and allowed to crystallize. It is available in white, glossy crystals, bits, granules, or powder form.

It is principally utilized as a coagulating agent in the treatment of water. Industrial applications include the fabrication and manufacturing of adhesive and bonding compounds, non-pesticidal fertilizers, finishing agent, and the synthesis of pigments and dyes. It is often used as a mordant in textile dyeing and printing, as well as to control the pH of the soil and for various industrial, and agricultural applications. In some industries, aluminum sulfate is referred to as alum or papermaker's alum, albeit this is a scientifically incorrect use of the name. Manufacturing and production of non-pesticide agricultural products, manufacturing and construction materials, housekeeping and upholstery care products, cloth, fabric, and leather goods, as well as paints, coatings, and hygiene products, are all examples of consumer applications.

Major Factors Contributing to the Global Materials and Chemicals Market Revenue Growth

Governments across the globe are putting in increasing efforts to combat increasing water scarcity, therefore it is essential to reuse wastewater and contaminated water. Water treatment and purification is one of the most important applications for alum. When it is mixed with water, microscopic contaminants cluster together to form larger particles. These impurity clumps will then sink to the bottom of the container or become large enough to filter out of the water. This makes the water more potable and, on the same basis, it is sometimes used in swimming pools to reduce cloudiness. Moreover, rising need for clean water is evident in developed nations as well and thus rising demand for water treating chemicals is another factor contributing to revenue growth of the market during the forecast period.
