There are multiple things you should be aware of that doctors have to go through. A good doctor might not complain, but they certainly do bear these things in the professional world.

I’ll be honest with you, being a doctor was my dream. I started thinking of being a doctor when I was a child, and I made sure I did all I could to reach my goals and become a doctor. Alas, I did become a doctor, and I thoroughly enjoyed being one.

The work and anticipation of finally being able to help people made me happy. Giving late-night shifts never became hectic for me. Of course, it was hard but being in a place where you find comfort and love is rare. I was truly living the dream of what people call doing what you love. However, there are multiple things you should be aware of that doctors have to go through. A good doctor might not complain, but they certainly do bear these things in the professional world.

The Huge Loans

Going to med school is honestly pretty expensive. The book, the school fee, the dorm upkeep, food, and a million other things just seem to pile up one after the other. Taking out loans for this is relatively easy, but paying them off takes a lifetime. If you accidentally find yourself unwilling to study further and decide to take some other profession, this loan will honestly hang itself on your neck for eternity.

You should only pursue a medical degree when you are a hundred percent sure that you want to continue with the same thing throughout life. The paychecks that come with this profession will eventually help pay off the loans.

The Stress Of Saving Someone’s Life

Now, I know this is what people start becoming doctors for; being able to save someone’s life is a big deal. But, a slight miss during surgery or a wrong diagnosis and someone else will suffer the consequences. You, as a doctor, will not only have yourself removed from your position but will also have to deal with your license being canceled. This is obviously your fault, but not only this, you will also have to deal with the guilt of another human being losing their life because of you.

This is not child’s play, and you can not make random decisions that suit you. There are protocols that need to be followed and rules that need to be applied. Doctors have to be extra vigilant when it comes to dealing with patients. I know this because I have been both a doctor and a patient. So, I have found myself respecting both parties as much as I can.
