Dragonflight will bring players back to Azeroth WoTLK Gold to help rebuild the dragonflights, and will introduce a brand new playable dragon race, called the Dracthyr which is only available as the new Evoker class. The expansion lets players fly around the new Dragon Isles region from the beginning using a brand new Dragonriding mechanic. Additionally, the expansion is putting an emphasis on improving universal game systems like professional skills, talents, and even the user interface over implementation of one-off systems like is the case for the previous expansions.

A lot of the bullet points pertain to things that players have been asking questions about throughout the years. There will not be "borrowed power" system like the one in Shadowlands. There's no chance to travel to a different dimension or into space. This is a high-fantasy expansion that focuses on Azeroth, which is what people have been waiting for. This expansion is the return of several fans' favorite NPC races, such as Gnolls, Tuskarr, and Centaurs. Players also get a new beloved character who is a favorite of fans: Koranos, the stone-man featured in the expansion cinematic who activates the beacon that reawakens this region of the Dragon Isles.

Dragonriding, too, seems to have received a positive reception, with players hoping the Dragon Isles-only feature will eventually come to the rest of Azeroth in the sense that it makes flying fun and dynamic , in contrast to the kind of passive motion that players currently use to move around the world.

Fans have observed that Dragonriding is very similar to the way flying mounts function within World of Warcraft, and instead of being upset the community seems happy that Blizzard could be looking to other MMOs for ideas.

However, even though the majority players are happy with the direction Dragonflight seems to be taking in WoW, the community does take a few notes in particular with regards in regards to Dracthyr. Some players have expressed concern that something is odd with their appearance. Many fans have taken it upon themselves to design mock-ups on WoTLK Classic Gold ways to improve their design.
