The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or SNES games roms for short, was one of the most popular game consoles of all time. It boasted a library of classic games that are still remembered fondly by gamers today. One of those classics is Batman Forever Rom, which is widely considered to be one of the best SNES games of all time.
Batman Forever Rom is a sidescrolling action game based on the 1995 movie Batman Forever. The game was released in 1996 and was developed by UK-based company formed by four former employees of Rare Ltd., including future Donkey Kong Country developer David Wise. The game was published by Acclaim Entertainment.
The objective of the game is to guide Batman through nine levels, each with three sub-levels, while defeating enemies such as Two-Face's henchmen, the Riddler's robots, and Catwoman. The player can punch, kick, or throw Batarangs at enemies. Batman can also glide across gaps using his cape. Throughout the levels are golden bat symbols which increase the player's score when picked up.
The first level is set in Gotham City Square where Two-Face and his men are robbing a bank. The second level is set in Flugelheim Museum where the Riddler has trapped Bruce Wayne and Vicki Vale inside displays. The third level is set atop Gotham City Cathedral where Batman must save Robin from the grips of Bane.
Batman Forever Rom is considered to be one of the best SNES games of all time thanks to its excellent level design, challenging gameplay, and faithfulness to the source material. If you're looking for a classic scrolling action game to play on your SNES, you can't go wrong with Batman Forever Rom.
