Azurite is a rare gemstone made up of copper carbonate hydroxide and is a mineral that is mainly sought by various gemologists. The stone gets its name from the Persian word- “Lazhward,” which when translated becomes Azurite Blue because of its vivid color blue. The essence of this vivid blue color is because of the presence of copper. The stone is often found in a mix of blue and green colors because of the malachite present, along with copper ore.
