While it is more straightforward than Cooking, Fletching and Fishing are more relaxing. While the latter two skills are easy to master, fishing can be a bit frustrating and time-consuming. I got 99 WC in 2007 or 2006 - doing an assortment of Yews, Willows and Maples mostly - and, from what I can recall, it wasn't all that bad.
It is easier to get things done if you have many trees and a bank/depositbox/shot close by. The Rimmington Willows website was fantastic as there were no bots or people and you could even sell logs. Draynor which is more appealing than Rimmington Willows, is excellent. However, all worlds are full of other bots and people.
Maples need to be cut within the Seers Village area, which is close to the bank. There should also be lots of trees. It would be ideal to cut them around 95 Woodcutting. However Willows are better than Maples. They aren't something I recommend. I cut them because Woodcutting is my money making skill and Willows/Maples wasn't much. They are worth an attempt if you're interested. But, I really enjoyed the Tree Gnome Strongholds because they were near to Magic trees. The locations to the north and south of Varrock Castle are both good.
Jagex overestimated its player base by a significant amount, or they want to win the Tuska election. The former is more likely. We've seen it previously with the Falador memorial altar, and perhaps with the old-fashioned referendum. Jagex overestimated the number of players in their initial plans, which Jagex then retconned. It's worth looking into the possibility of buy old school rs gold a different alternative.
