IULM University Milan is Italy's leading university in Linguistics and Communication. The university was founded in 1968 as a linguistic institute, with Carlo Poe, a poet, literary critic, and professor of Spanish and French, as the source of its foundation. The main objective of the educational institution is to train the required professionals based on the analysis of trends in the labor market.
Since the 2000s, the university has been guided by the needs of society and market trends and provides training in line with new academic standards. The university has strong ties with linguistics and mass media, creating a methodological base for the study of tourism, hotel business, and cultural heritage.

The University has always focused on the globalization of education: representatives of more than 30 nationalities study in it, the University collaborates with major educational institutions and organizations in Italy and abroad:
IULM cooperates with 166 universities in an exchange program: students from the USA, Canada, Australia and Latin America come to the university to study and gain new experience for several semesters.
The university helps students complete internships at partner companies and institutions – for example, Pepsi Italia, Mediaset and Triennale di Milano. Thanks to the well-functioning system, about 50% of students are employed in the companies where they have completed their internship.
