For many, this makes Snapchat the most important communication app on their phone. Since every photo or video you send to a group of friends or post to your story disappears after a certain amount of time, with Snapchat, it's easy to broadcast your life to your friends, allowing you to control what they see without worrying about them. Posting something is too embarrassing to last online. The transient nature of things posted on Snapchat is a big part of its appeal, as your past becomes a little harder to come back to haunt you when it disappears after a day.

Given the popularity of Snapchat among its user base, you probably want to gather as many followers as possible. As with any form of social media, the number of followers is still important. After all, posting content on Snapchat only matters if you have friends who watch your pictures. A single Snapchat account means no one will see your stories, and since everything you post disappears into the ether 24 hours after posting, the friends you add won't be able to see your photo and video archive. How to know if someone else is following you on Snapchat

You may be surprised to learn that it's fairly easy to find out if someone you follow is subscribed to Snapchat. While Snapchat hasn't explicitly stated it, it has a secret way of discovering if you and your conversation partner are mutual friends on the platform or if you're following their public snapshots. This is unexpected, and frankly, if you're not familiar with Snapchat on a deep level, you may not even know what to look for. However, why Snapchat decided to hide this option remains a mystery, considering why people are interested in learning who is following them.
