If Diablo IV does eventually launch, it will come amidst massive changes within Activision Blizzard. The company has been plagued by D2R Ladder Items several lawsuits in the past months in regards to the alleged culture of sexual discrimination and harassment. Activision Blizzard is also in the process of being purchased by Microsoft in a $69 billion deal, which is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.

Similar to the original game Diablo, Diablo: Resurrected's Ladder system essentially serves as an element of seasonal competitive game where players create newcharacters, exclusive to Ladder, and climb the leaderboards. Players can choose from playing one of the characters from the Classic Ladder (which comprises the four main acts of the original game).

Hardcore Classic Ladder (the exact same thing as Classic albeit with the extra twist of just having one lifetime), as well as both Classic or Hardcore Ladders that include everything in the Lord of Destruction expansion content.

The characters that are created on a specific Ladder are only able to play with others on that Ladder. After the conclusion of the period, Ladder character will then be transformed into other characters and will retain any Ladder-exclusive items equipped or found in their inventory. Items stored in the seasonal Ladder stash will have until the start in Ladder Season 3 to be removed, so that they don't get lost forever. Ladder seasons are planned to last for around 4 months.

Blizzard will be celebrating the game's debut Ladder season with a livestream event it's calling The Infernal Race. Different Diablo producers will be working together and competing against each other as they attempt for the top spot of the seasonal leaderboards. Fans can watch the race through the official Diablo Twitch channel.

The game's first Ladder season follows the release of the massive patch 2.4 update that introduced important changes to class balances as well as new items and rune terms, changes to D2R Ladder Items Buy the game's various mercenaries as well as other changes.
