Unfortunately, we have seen some RVers who replace their RV batteries every two years. Why so? This is not required. Or if they need to replace the batteries in such a short span of time, they are not keeping up with the regular maintenance. Properly maintained and deep-cycled batteries should last at least six years.

If you want to continue with your RV lifestyle, here are our top battery tips to extend the life of your RV batteries.

* You should not miss on your routine maintenance and recharging a discharged battery at the earliest. Doing this will only extend the life of your batteries. The primary cause of dead lead-acid batteries is nothing but sulfation. Do not leave your battery in a low charging state for long.

* When you reduce the depth of discharge of your batteries, it will extend their life.

* RVs have some amount of parasitic load that can discharge a battery over time. Be careful about this condition.

* You must charge your batteries regularly, but at the same time, you must not overcharge your RV batteries. When it is hot outside, you need to keep your batteries’ temperature under control. Keep the water levels of the batteries under check.
