Exit Poll It was past time to elevate FSU to title

Each week this season we'll tap into the minds of some of college football's best players from over the years in our weekly Exit Poll. This week, Sporting News asks: Is it LeRoy Butler Jersey past time to peg FSU as a national title contender after the way the Seminoles beat No. 3 Clemson? They also look at which team is most ripe to lose its first game this weekend.THE 10 SPOT: | | 1. Is it past time to elevate the Seminoles to national title contender? Can the Seminoles playand beatwith anyone?Anthony McFarland: Florida State for the last two years has been the only team outside the SEC with the type of talent to play with the SEC because of their defensenot their offense.Jake Plummer: Whether its FSU or any of the other top five teams, I believe all five can play with anyone and should be considered national title contenders. FSU has a very confident QB and dismantled a tough Clemson team, but maybe Clemson had an off day. Its tough to stay unbeaten and make it to the national title game. FSU seems to have confidence and should be in consideration, since they've earned it.Butch Woolfolk: Ranked No. 3 in the polls, the Seminoles are exactly where they should be after the impre sive win over Clemson. If either Alabama or Oregon hiccups, FSU should slide right in there. No other team deserves it more.Jared Zabransky: FSU Malik Taylor Jersey is definitely a title contender and I have been saying it from the beginning. With Winston and that receiving corps, plus a traditional FSU-looking defense with a number of guys that will play on Sunday, they would be hard to beat. FSU can beat anyone in college football, but unle s Bama or Oregon falter, I don't believe we will see them in this game.MORE: | 2. If the season ended today with Alabama, Oregon, FSU, Ohio State and Baylor undefeated, which two teams do you place in the BCS title game?McFarland: Alabama vs. Florida State. The two best defenses in the country.Plummer: Alabama vs. Oregon, no doubt. No one has challenged the Ducks this year and Alabama looks to be finding its groove.Woolfolk: I think everyone wants to see Alabama vs. Oregonme included.Zabransky: Alabama vs. Oregon. Both teams started right where they are right now and if undefeated, nothing else should be considered.MORE: | 3. Which upset this weekend surprised you the most?McFarland: Texas AM. As good as Johnny Manziel has been for Kevin Sumlin, the defense has been equally as bad and I just dont understand how they cant fix it.Plummer: I was really surprised to see FSU dominate Clemson like they did. Clemson had shown to be a well-rounded team but they were exposed on many fronts.Woolfolk: Clemsons 40-point lo s to FSU was the most shocking upset because of the point difference.Zabransky: Louisvilles lo s against UCF. Looking at Louisville's schedule, I didn't see a team on it that could give them any troubleor so I thought.PREVIOUS EXIT POLLS: | | | | | | | 4. Which undefeated team is most likely to fall this weekend?McFarland: South Carolina will be ticked off and has enough talent to go into Mi souri and beat the Tigers. Mi souri is coming off a couple of big wins in a rowhow will it respond?Plummer: I know who I want to see go downthe Tidebut don't know if Tenne see has the ability to pull off that kind of upset. Mi souri is primed Corey Bradford Jersey to be taken down, after some emotional wins and now having to play without their starting QB, South Carolina needs a good win and I think they will beat Mi souri.Woolfolk: South Carolina still has the chops to take down a top-10 team. Mi souri can be the next to fall.Zabransky: If you're just looking at the games slated as to who has home field advantages it would be the Oklahoma vs. Texas Tech game. It's also tough for young quarterbacks to stay consistent throughout an entire season. Something has to give for Tech soon and I think it happens this weekend. Our Exit Poll panelists:Anthony "Booger" McFarlandMcFarland was a first-team SEC and All-American noseguard in 1998 for the Tigers. The 15th overall pick out of LSU in 1999, McFarland won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers and Colts. He hosts an afternoon sports talk show from 3-7 ET on 98.7 The Fan in Tampa and also is a host on Sirius XM NFL Radio. .Jake PlummerArizona State's third all-time leading pa ser with 8,626 yards and 65 TDs, Plummer was the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year in 1996. David Bakhtiari Jersey He went on to a 10-year NFL career and reached the Pro Bowl in 2005 with Denver. You can find him working in studio for the Pac-12 Network when he's not offering one-on-one QB instruction to college and high school players or spending time with his wife and two sons.Butch WoolfolkWoolfolk led Michigan in rushing in 1979, '80 and '81. He's sixth on the Wolverines all-time list with 3,850 rushing yards and scored 29 times. He was the 1981 Rose Bowl MVP. He also was a multiple Big Ten champion in track and field and still holds the outdoor 200-meter record at Michigan (20.59 seconds) and is fourth in the 100 (10.36). A Jace Sternberger Jersey first-round NFL pick in 1982, he played seven seasons in the NFL and is now semi-retired.Jared ZabranskyBoise State's second all-time leading pa ser with 8,256 yards and 58 TD pa ses, Zabransky was right in the middle of . In the 2007 Fiesta Bowl, Zabransky perfectly executed the Statue of Liberty play on a 2-point conversion in overtime for the Broncos' stunning victory over Oklahoma that gave non-BCS teams a new level of respect.
