First released back in 2013 In 2013, the PS4 has become not only one Sony's most successful consoles but also one of the top-selling game platforms of all time. However, Sony is now looking to sell the PS5 as the primary equipment, which means the PS4 will soon come to an end. With the new announcements from Sony that we've got an indication of the date when PS4 is likely to officially go away.

In Sony's most recent financial statement, it made clear that games for PS4 will be gone by 2025. It doesn't mean, however, that old PS4 games won't be purchasable, but Sony will definitely have finished releasing new titles for the platform by this time.

In 2025, Sony has predicted that by 2025, the majority of the revenue for games will come in the form of PlayStation 5, with titles played on PC and mobile devices also contributing in the remaining half of its earnings.

Overall, this surely shouldn't come as a surprise considering that the PS5 will be Sony's main focus in the years to follow. It's worth noting that right now the PS4 is a platform that Sony is still manufacturing and releasing games for Diablo 2 Resurrected Items. In fact, this year's top PlayStation games, God of War Ragnarok, is still expected to launch on PS4 whenever it does arrive.
