Did Larry Fitzgerald retire?

Larry Fitzgerald has not officially announced his retirement from the NFL yet. He is a free agent but he doesn't seem to be interested in signing anywhere right now.

"I just don't have the urge to play right now," Fitzgerald said in back in late August. "I don't know how I'll feel in September, October, November moving forward but today, I just don't have that urge."

Those three months have come and gone, so it doesn't seem like anything has change for Fitzgerald. And as long as that urge to play isn't there, he doesn't plan on returning to the field. Why?

"I think I have to be respectful of that," Fitzgerald said. "Football is not one of those games you want to walk out there and play and not be fully engaged and ready to repare and do the things nece sary that you need to do."

"The pursuit is the Lombardi Trophy, but you have to be in love with the proce s of pursuing the Lombardi Trophy," Fitzgerald said. "That's the part that's most important."

TheCardinals would probablywelcome Larry Fitzgeraldback wholeheartedly if he wanted to return. The only concern would have been about his career-worst 7.6 yards per catch last season. The Cole Hamels Jersey team has strong receiving depth in Hopkins, A.J. Green, Christian Kirk and Rondale Moore, but Fitzgerald would have added experience and and an option to help replace Hopkins' production while he's out of the lineup.

Butwould Fitzgerald want to return for a bit role? That remains unclear. At this point, it seems like he won't return during the 2022 NFL playoffs and will enjoy his pseudo-retirement.
