The church was the one that Sophie's parents married 43 years back and Sophie has spent many happy summer holidays in the region with her family, and Patrick, since that time. Sophie chose to inject her love of bright, vibrant color into her big day; cue a joyful scheme of bright pinks and purples for that couple's laid-back relaxed day.

"I wanted different things. At first, I was tempted with a two-piece or jumpsuit, however, it was incredibly difficult to find something that wasn't too structured and tailored for the venue. After trips to about six wedding gown shops, I found. I loved my dress's subtle ombré into blush along with the beautiful embroidery and embellishment. It felt just like a princess dress however in a cool way."

I accept Sophie her gown combines classic bridal styling having a modern approach. I'm deeply in love with exquisite embroidery, and I adore simple wedding dresses, too. Sophie's sheer veil was hand-made by the lady who altered her gown to hug her perfectly and in keeping using the relaxed vibe, she wore block-heeled Dusky blush velvet sandals.

Sophie and Patrick both visited Newcastle University but didn’t know one another until being set up on a blind date by their finest man-to-be Niall approximately four years back.

"Patrick inquired about marrying him around the first day of our holiday to Crete last summer. I was on the sunbed inside a swimming costume, completely surprised! The rest of my loved ones and some friends were joining us on vacation later on that day so we had the most wonderful ten days celebrating. We were engaged for ten months." Go

Sophie's love of color is plain to determine in her bridesmaids' gowns – a variety of jewel-toned dresses.

Patrick visited a high-street store for his three-piece suit in dark grey, matched having a pale pink bow tie and pocket square. A flash of color originated from his cute buttonhole.

Patrick and Sophie married inside a traditional Church of England ceremony, adding an individual touch using their beautiful selection of reading from 'Mark Twain's Letters.

"I love bright vibrant colors and try to wear color myself. Looking at lots of wedding inspiration the marketplace is flooded with dusky pastel color schemes. These look gorgeous but I wanted different ones!! It felt just like a summer casual wedding on the farm was an ideal location to inject some color."

"Patrick organized a 50p bet for each guest on the team in the World Cup. He is football mad! Each betting slip was tucked into the brown envelopes we used as place names."

"I loved every minute! It was great using a 'destination' wedding because it resulted in our family and friends having all come for that whole weekend."

"I had a dress-up costume change later within the evening right into a sequinned crop halterneck top and wide leg trousers. I had originally thought I wanted to put on a jumpsuit to obtain married in so I was eager to still get a little bit of wide leg dance-floor action in!"

"I was lucky enough to get stumble upon a sample of some trousers at the office, which using the help of a tailor became my evening outfit."

Words of Wedded Wisdom

"If you do it DIY like us, make sure you come with an army of helpers for the days before. We wouldn't have had a marriage if it wasn't for the amazing family and friends who threw in the towel their Friday to assist decorate the barn and marquee. I worried sometimes we had bit off more than we're able to chew with making the venue work however it was worthwhile and all came together within the end."
