Diablo 2: Resurrected Update Reintroduces an Old Feature Classic FeatureDiablo II Resurrected received a brand new version this week that brought the feature that was originally featured within the first Diablo II game. This feature is the ladder system that gives players a chance to compete against others using a competitive method to play through the game's story with the characters they've constructed.

The Ladder system comes in many different variations and is available for players to return to or play for the first-time, depending on whether they have played the initial Diablo II or not.

If you've played the predecessor to this version, you'll be pretty familiar with some fundamental features of the Ladder system. It's available as Classic, Hardcore Classic, Expansion, and Hardcore Expansion variants with each variant having different rules that govern how many lives players get and what content is available.

"Each mod will come with their individual leaderboards where players compete to strategically gain experience within only a short period of time, while also having access to content that is specific to Ladders," Blizzard's announcement about the release of their Ladder system included in Diablo II: Resurrected said. "When this Ladder season is finished, the leaderboard rankings will reset as characters are switched to non-ladder modes buy D2R ladder items, giving players the chance to gain experience."
