It stings a bit, but the title of the main post also made me immediately think of Bungie, with Destiny two. Them committing to WOW TBC Gold thing sunsetting for as long as they did... especially with the arrogance, saying that it is the correct thing to do, despite all the legitimate criticism about it. They didn't care about all of the participant time spent grinding for their desired rolls, watching their things power-capped, then having to re-grind the exact same rolls and weapon, only with a fresh power cap. They did not actually make the new drops different in any meaningful manner like sunsetting was supposed to perform.

It had been an engineered waste of time. Like the name, it is possible to assert they were totally incompetent, they desired the boosted player time, or heck, maybe it's not black and white - they were fine understanding that their incompetence rewarded them, therefore they dragged their feet on addressing it until much more than a year after.

Wow has had 20 decades of development effort and expertise thrown at it. Besides shitty decisions and systems... It functions, the game functions and contains a full world constructed already. That's a lot more than we could say about a lot of mmos already. For the most part there aren't any game busting issues which stop a large portion of the player base from playing.

Everyone put in 20k hours to the game feels tied to it and it's to get better. . Right? Those 20k hours were not for nothing. . Right?

I feel as the cost of building the mmo genre will be buy WOW TBC Classic Gold nearly impossible to get into without prior base.
